Gov. Rick Snyder, TED Director Roger Curtis: Senate Appropriations Action on Marshall Plan Legislation Puts Michigan Another Step Closer to Closing Talent Gap

Gov. Rick Snyder and Talent and Economic Development Department of Michigan Director Roger Curtis issued the following statements after the Michigan Senate Appropriations Committee passed the Marshall Plan for Talent bill package -- SBs 941-942.

Gov. Snyder: "I appreciate Senator Hansen's and Senator Hildenbrand's leadership on this package and the committee for their work to ensure Michigan can compete in the global race for the best talent in the world. We know the state that best closes the talent gap will have a competitive advantage over others when companies look at places to locate, expand and create jobs. With this legislation and the Marshall Plan as a whole, Michigan will be the winning state."

Roger Curtis: "I applaud Chairman Hildenbrand and committee members for their thoughtful consideration and swift action to ensure Michigan can invest in, develop, retain and attract talent to the state to fill the more than 800,000 career openings available through 2024.

"We know the sprawling talent gap isn't unique to Michigan, but we intend to be the leader in solving it. And the Marshall Plan is our blueprint to ensuring Michigan leads the nation, and the world, in the most and best talent for employers.
